Help fund Grubees Recovery

In mid May our rescue Grubee developed a pyothorax from an unknown source. He was taken to the Central Victoria Vet Hospital where he received amazing care. After some initial tests that showed he was otherwise healthy, my partner and I decided to try and save his life. He was in the hospital for almost a week with chest and feeding tubes receiving high doses of antibiotics. Against all odds (and to the surprise of my normal vet) he survived. We just completed 8 weeks of antibiotic home care and his final tests and scans showed a complete recovery!

More than likely this slow brewing infection was a result of a wound he received on the streets of California before we adopted him almost a year ago.

Those who have met Grubee know he's amazing. He's a giant ball of lovable fluff that you just can't get enough of. He saved us from the overwhelming grief we felt after loosing Mungo (our first cat), at only 9 to CHF. Grubee deserved a shot at being saved too. We're so unbelievably happy that his battle has a Happy Ending.
