Good People!

In July of 2019, I had the honor of taking a group of youth to Malawi, and that trip changed my life. In December of 2019, I became the moderator for the Pittsburgh Presbytery's International Partnership between South Sudan, Malawi, and Pittsburgh. In March of 2023, I again travelled with a group of pilgrims from McKeesport and Hampton Presbyterian Churches to rekindle the relationships between our three regions. That trip was also life-changing and the joy, knowledge, and love that I receive and that I get to share on these trips, continues to grow exponentially. My plan this year is to travel with a small group to Malawi, where we will meet up with a delegation from South Sudan and walk side-by-side in Faith with people living completely different experiences from our own. We will break bread, we will laugh, we will cry, and we will experience the unconditional love of God.

To be clear, this is NOT a mission trip. We are very intentional about the fact that we are not going to S. Sudan/Malawi to do anything for or to anyone. We are not anyone's great white hope. We see value in walking alongside believers from other countries, sharing some of our perspectives, and gaining some of theirs. We go to fellowship, to learn, and to grow together.
