I am living in Maine for over 25 years. I am originally from Canada but moved to Maine for school. I am a Native North American from the Mohawk people. I am not an immigrant as my people are from NY state. I graduated from the University of Maine with a BA. I have worked mostly with emotionally challenged youth in a few programs. Good Will Hinckley was my primary employer for 15 years. The past 5 I developed End Stage Renal Failure. GWH modified my work schedule so I could do dialysis and work. I have helped make an impact of the students I have worked with. Now I am retired as my health can't do what I used to. I have gone to Social Security to apply for disability but have been denied. I am now denied SNAP benefits. I am not given much choice but move back to my other home in Ontario, Canada. The money I am trying to raise is for dialysis in Canada. I need to be a resident for 73 days before OHIP ( Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan) can be applied. My family is happy to have me home and will help move me to Ontario. The dialysis cost hinders me. I am reaching out for help that I may live. Without it I will be dead within two weeks. Thanks for your time and considerations.
