Help Fund Detroit-Based Short Film "Making Sense"
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Janelle Elyse, and I’m a young metro Detroit-based photographer and aspiring filmmaker. I’ve been doing photography and art since I was little, but more seriously for about 4 years now.
With threats from this administration over mine and so many others' opportunities in the arts, I’ve turned to doing what I know, creating, and using my voice to educate and tell what I know is an important story about the importance of the arts in our communities.
Alongside some very talented individuals, I am making a short film entitled “Making Sense” about a young black artist (who learns to embrace those around her to figure out what she wants and what she’ll do to protect it).
Any donation would be extremely appreciated and essential to bringing this story to life. The money will go to our equipment, props, costumes, food for cast and crew, and ensuring the production runs as smoothly as possible.
I hope to bring attention to the very prevalent issue of not only the erasure of arts for POC but the attempted erasure of culture and its significance.

Thank you!
