HELP FUND DENYASEMAN PRE SCHOOL

Hi friends, my name is Nana A. Bonin III - QueenMother of Denyase Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region of Ghana; and founder of Denyaseman Pre-School - I also live in the UK.

I have set up this fundraiser to raise funds for the pre-school I have built in my community. Denayase Village Pre-School is located between Bone and Anwia Nkwanta on the 'Mankessim - Kumasi Rd', in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

My community, trustees (in Ghana and the UK), and I started this project in 2017 and have raised a total of around £34,000 to build the foundation and structure of the school building. Building a pre-school has been a dream of mine for as long as I have been enstooled as queen-mother, and my community and I are incredibly grateful that it came true. I wanted to start this project because I knew it would promote educational, social and economic development in my community - as I acknowledged the severity of the lack of access to education and work within Denyase.

This school is important to my community because I believe that education is empowering and is the solution to many problems concerning poverty. Pre-school education provides children with a strong foundation in social and general life skills which will give them an advantage in primary school and beyond. Education can often be taken for granted, but it is a massive factor in development in many aspects, which is why Denyaseman Pre-School values education and its benefits.

We have hosted many fundraisers in Ghana and the UK, with a lot of support to make this happen

UPDATE: We opened the school for education on 3rd February 2023 and currently, (as of November 2023) we have a total of 52 students - this is all thanks to your donations and support!! We have also been able to buy a school minibus which transports some of our students to and from school within Denyase and surrounding areas. We can’t thank you enough, please see image below.

As you may know, it is hard for a small community to raise enough funds consistently because many people in the community are unemployed or earn very little.

So we are still kindly accepting donations which would help run the school in the best way possible.
