HELP FUND DALLAS AND CAROL’S $20K MEDICAL BILLS!!  

Dallas and Carol Carroll have lived prudently and responsibly, especially in the last several decades when they moved to land in Stokes County, NC so that they could build their own log home.  Friends and family have watched in awe and admiration as Dallas (born with only one full arm and one partial one) built the house from the foundation up!! 

It was finished enough for them to move in right before Christmas 2022!!  And construction had been accomplished as funds were available – the Carrolls were scrupulously frugal! 

But the first week of 2023 brought a crisis:  Carol suffered an embolic stroke which required an ambulance trip to Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem where she was hospitalized for nearly a week.  The stroke has affected her speech and has caused weakness on her left side, but, thankfully, it has not affected her cognitive abilities. 

As they looked at what would be needed for Carol’s recovery, Dallas and Carol have faced another crisis:  they didn’t have adequate health insurance, for this kind of emergency.

Dallas and Carol remain optimistic and determined! But they have tough choices as they try to return Carol to health without creating a level of debt they have diligently avoided! 

With some coaxing they have agreed to allow this appeal to be made. Its goal is to bring up to $20K to assist with bills that are already known and the predicted costs of medical visits and medicines that Carol will need to regain her physical strength. Much of this they will need almost immediately to cover the hospital stay and other emergency charges.
