A Special Friend to Our Seniors

Hi everyone! This is Clyde. To the residents at our assisted living facility in Vista, CA, Clyde the cat is family. Unusually cuddly, gentle, and friendly, for many residents, Clyde's daily cuddles are the highlight they look forward to. Clyde came to us in a special way—he was the former pet of a beloved resident who passed away.

Last Friday evening, around 7 PM, Clyde went missing. For three days, our seniors and caregivers were sure that he had gotten lost, been hurt by wild animals, or passed away.

Then on Monday at 11:30 AM, Clyde returned—but something was wrong. Our usually energetic friend was dragging himself around, clearly in pain and unable to properly use his left hind leg.

The veterinarian's news was worse than we feared. Clyde has multiple fractures in his left hind leg. The injury is severe and requires immediate surgery, costing an estimated $5,000. Without this procedure, infection could set in, threatening not just his leg but his life. The alternative—amputation—would dramatically change Clyde's quality of life. This cat, who loves to run, jump, and hunt, would be permanently disabled.

Despite his injury, Clyde still makes his rounds, showing the same dedication to them that they show to him.

We're urgently raising $5,000 to cover as much of Clyde's surgery, medication, and recovery care as possible. Every donation, no matter how small, will help give this special cat the chance to heal completely and return to his important "job" of bringing comfort and companionship to our senior residents.
