Help Fund Clover's Emergency Moving Expenses
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Clover and I am asking for relocation assistance for an emergency move.
On October 16th, my landlord served a notice to vacate my apartment by November 30th without any warning. This happened shortly after I expressed my boundaries around my landlord entering my living space outside of the time we agreed was okay. It’s been a recurring issue with my landlord entering my home space without consent or a standard 24-hour notice. It has made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and disempowered as a brown, queer, non-binary person. The apartment I am applying for will guarantee the peace and privacy I am hoping for.
I am seeking any and all generous donations to help with a security deposit, moving expenses, and the first month of rent for an apartment within the Inland Empire.
Affording a new living space during this scary, uncertain time would reduce my anxiety immensely. I’d be able to support myself and resource my friends and local community much better.
I am hoping this next home will help end my cycle of short-term, insecure and sometimes unsafe housing situations I’ve experienced since 2008. For a person with CPTSD, the funds for a new apartment to call home will create an anchor for a stable life and newfound belongingness I feel within the local QTBIPOC community.
About Me:
I wish to stay in the Inland Empire to retain my work and social life here. A new home would provide a quiet place to rest, a kitchen to cook in, a private restroom, and access to a laundry. All these things in one place would be life changing for me.
This unit would allow me to live closer to work so I can ride my bike or walk to work within 15 to 30 minutes versus my current one-hour commute by bus and frequent carpooling.
I currently work three jobs between a local farmer’s market, a thrift shop, and a greeting card company.
Outside of work, I am organizing a Free QTBIPOC Wardrobe for people in need of gender affirming attire. I will provide this resource at a local community center in San Bernardino that has shown tremendous support to the queer community through representation and programming.
I want to continue giving back to the community and will do so by providing organizational support and event planning for a local community garden. I will also be continuing my American Sign Language studies as a means to connect with more people and to be a interpretation support as needed.
These spaces and projects have provided a safe haven and much needed fuel to keep the candle of hope in my life burning. Giving back to the Inland Empire community is a high priority for me and would be an empowering experience at this time in my life.
Having a safe living space to cultivate myself, my projects, and my relationships is essential.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
