During a trip to Rome, Italy, my brother's fiancée (Drilona) was recently admitted to the hospital because she was experiencing blurry vision and was having trouble maintaining balance. The results of several tests and brain scans revealed a large tumor that requires surgery to remove and a biopsy to determine whether it is benign or malignant. After several days of discussion with the doctors and her family members, Drilona will be undergoing surgery on June 24, 2021 in attempt to remove as much of the tumor as possible and to assess the extent of its impact. While we are very thankful that the technology exists to perform such a surgery, we are asking for help from anyone who is able to contribute to her medical expenses. Because Drilona is a citizen of Albania and not Italy, her medical insurance doesn't cover a large portion of the costs she will incur to undergo all of the surgeries and rehabilitations she will need.

Our initial goal is to raise $10,000 to help with these medical bills, however we are awaiting further information from the hospital regarding the future costs to help rehabilitate her, which we expect to increase our goal quite substantially... After surgery she will need several weeks of chemotherapy, followed by several months of rehabilitation. In addition to her medical bills, this gofundme account will also help pay for a short term apartment, food and everyday necessities so that my brother and Drilona's family can remain by Drilona's side during this crisis.
