Hello! My name is Lainey Wagoner, and I am raising funds for my Senior Thesis film, Cardboard Skies. This is my first fully budgeted short film, and it tells a powerful story about the struggles of homelessness in Albuquerque.

Cardboard Skies follows Ivy, a young woman fighting to keep her little brother safe after eviction leaves them living out of their car. When a run-in with their drug-addicted mother threatens to unravel the fragile life Ivy's been holding together, she's forced to make an impossible choice between family and survival.

Through this story, I hope to shed light on the often unseen realities of homelessness—especially among families—and to bring awareness to the challenges faced by those living on the edge of stability in our own community. My goal is not only to make a meaningful film but also to use it as a platform to give visibility and recognition to local organizations in Albuquerque that help families experiencing homelessness.
