Fund Cancer Treatment - Kandy Hospital, Sri Lanka

Donation protected
My name is Rashmi Ratnasena and I am a high school student in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

The National Hospital Kandy (NHK) is the second largest hospital in Sri Lanka and is the major tertiary care unit in the Central Province. The hospital also caters to its bordering provinces such as Sabaragamuwa, Northern, Eastern, North Central and Northwestern. Currently, the hospital has a 2700-bed capacity and treats nearly 1.4 million patients each year.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the country’s severe economic crisis, the hospital is experiencing challenges in ensuring the continuation of its uninterrupted medical treatment. Notably, there is a dire shortage of cancer treatment drugs, which are very costly.

As a Sri Lankan-born Canadian Citizen, I am committed and passionate about giving back to my homeland and community. To begin, I am raising funds in support of purchasing a month’s worth (30 bottles) of Lapatinib (250mg), one of the necessary cancer treatment drugs, with a total cost of $3500 CAD. With your help, I am hoping to help change the lives of many patients and their families, by providing financial support in procuring these life-saving treatments. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
