Hi everyone! I’m a 21 year old college student. Callie, my cat, means everything to me. I adopted her in 2023 for companionship and mental health support. She’s my absolute best friend in the world. We do everything together, and she has gotten me through the hardest times of my life. Callie recently swallowed a string and needs to undergo emergency surgery to save her life. I have some savings and an emergency credit card that I used to cover expenses, but the cost is still overwhelming. I have pet insurance too put I’m still not sure how much they will be covering.With the surgery, the medications, anesthesia, and overnight stays, it’s going to cost me $7,000-8,000. That is just more than I can possibly afford. As a student who is about to graduate and start a life for myself, being in this much debt feels impossible. But I could never let Callie go untreated.
