Help Fund Button’s Medical Bills: Recently Found Stray Cat

Hi! My name is Eliana McCarthy and I’m a 17-year-old high school student.

About a week ago, I found a stray cat roaming around outside my local mall. He was such a sweetheart; it didn’t feel right to leave him out there. My boyfriend and I spent about 45 minutes gaining his trust, and then we were able to get him into our car and take him home. I picked him up multiple times, and he didn’t hiss or try to bite/scratch me once. His trust toward humans made me think he had an owner, so my mom and I searched very hard to find them.

I took him to the vet and had him scanned for a chip, but he does not have one. I even put up “found cat” signs in my area, but no one has come forward. My family and I are now considering keeping him, but the vet has quoted us upwards of $400 to get him the necessary medical care to make him safe and comfortable. This includes vaccines, scans, screenings, tests, etc. He also has an eye infection that we need to tend to. I got him an eye cream, but it is looking like he may need something more. On top of that, we will most likely get him fixed, and paying for food will be a monthly expense.

I am more than willing to work hard to make all of this happen, but any and all donations are appreciated!
