Hello, my name is Raichal Gladman and I am the creator behind the growing website, bandsinthebus.com.
I didn’t want it to come to this, but here we are. I was guaranteed a writing gig that was going to pay me $12,000 that I was planning to direct entirely toward Bands in the Bus. However, I was told this Thursday that the other party had no intention of moving forward with our agreement, which I would I have been okay with if they haven’t strung me along for two and a half months.
Bands in the Bus is currently in limbo as I am currently am not making enough at my day job to make up for all the unpaid labor that I am currently investing in this endeavor. With inflation and having to pay for much needed repairs in our basement, I can’t justify investing so much in a personal endeavor without an overwhelming amount of irrational anxiety. But there is good news!
For less than $300, I can set up an LLC which will allow me to write off future investments on my taxes.
For less than $500, I can get a lens for my camera and possibly start a podcast which will allow me to start monetizing the site by the end of the year.
For less than $1000, I will be able to update all of my equipment and establish scaffolding that will allow me to monetize the site in as little as 90 days.
I appreciate you taking time out your day to learn more about Bands in the Bus. In less than three months, my tiny music review website has had over 5,000 unique interactions with people all over the global. Readers from New York City and Los Angeles are reading about the bands I am covering in Columbus, Ohio and I am helping these bands get the exposure they deserve.
All I ask is that you consider making a small donation if you enjoying my work and believe in my mission of promoting local musicians so that their music can reach a broader audience. It’s a labor of love, but I enjoy what I am doing and I truly hope I can continue for years to come. Every tiny donation makes my mission of amplifying the work of local musicians a little easier.
