Help DSST GVR Students Afford Their AP Exams

Hi, my name is Edna Abel, and I am a student attending DSST: Green Valley Ranch High School in Denver, Colorado. I’m launching this fundraiser to help cover Advanced Placement (AP) exam fees for me and my classmates, especially for students from low-income families who have worked incredibly hard to prepare for these college-level tests.

At our school:

97% of students are students of color

76% are from low-income or economically disadvantaged households

This means these exams are more than just tests - they’re a chance for students to earn college credit, stand out in the admissions process, and access scholarships. But each exam costs between $53 and $99, and for students taking multiple AP classes, the costs add up fast.

Here’s what we’re facing:

Over 1,600 exams will be taken this year

76% will be taken by low-income students

We need to raise approximately $60,932 to cover their exam fees

Without this support, many students may be forced to opt out of taking their AP exams — not because they’re unprepared, but because they simply can’t afford them. That’s something we want to change.

We’re asking for your help to remove this financial barrier and give every student the opportunity to reach their full potential. Every dollar goes directly to exam fees for students who need it most. Whether you give $10 or $100, you’re investing in the futures of hardworking young people.
