My name is Gary, and I’m the owner of Animal Pantry, the only independent pet food and accessories retail store serving Dyker Heights and the surrounding neighborhoods. For years, I’ve worked hard to keep our prices low so retirees, pensioners, and all local pet owners/walkers/lovers have a convenient, affordable place to shop for their furry friends. We’re proud to be a small business that truly cares about our community, and we’re grateful for every customer who walks through our doors.
This past winter was especially tough for us. The months of January and February brought harsh weather and slow business, with some weeks where we barely broke even or even lost money. While things are starting to look up now, the lack of profit during those months meant we couldn’t put aside enough for our upcoming quarterly taxes, which are due on April 15th. I’m reaching out for help to cover these taxes and to invest in building a website. With a website, we can offer online ordering for those days when the weather keeps people home, and we can reach even more pet lovers in our area.
Your support will keep Animal Pantry from going into debt, help us meet our tax obligations, and allow us to grow by increasing our inventory with more variety of products to serve your needs. Most importantly, your generosity will help ensure that Animal Pantry remains a part of Dyker Heights for many years to come.
Thank you, friends, for all your support—because of you, Animal Pantry will be here for another 10-15 years, serving our community and caring for your pets.
