WALK for HOPE
Allow me to share the story of our brother ANDY...
Blessed with 3 sons and a supportive wife, this optimistic, loving father had dreams of a promising life for his family in the Philippines.
He taught the boys the value of integrity, duty, hard work and set an example by courageously
starting a humble food venture in June of last
year. His creative way of providing for his family.
Then an unexpected turn of events happened.
As COVID took a toll on the
family’s finances, he noted a growth of a non- healing ulcer on his right foot in October 2020.
It impaired his ability to walk. Pain became debilitating and his start-up food venture was put on a standstill.
Despite surgical wound debridement, expensive complex wound care, antibiotics and sleepless nights with round the clock pain medications, his wound did not heal.
In November 2020, after several doctor visits and an arterial ultrasound of the
leg, he was diagnosed with severe Peripheral Vascular Disease (blockages and narrowing in the vessels of his lower extremity) rarely seen in young people. The clock started ticking for prompt therapy.
In December 2020, signs of necrosis
began to show on his right foot. Against
all odds with an expensive, inefficient
and fragmented medical system in the
Philippines, our family sought ways to
raise money to save his leg and foot.
We hope to see him walk again alongside
his 3 sons, wife and our family. We pray
for the full restoration of his leg and foot circulation .
With your generous support, money we will raise shall go towards ALL EFFORTS to save his
leg. This will include DVT
work up, blood tests, angiography, angioplasty (with possible stenting), cardiac
work up, X-rays, medications, hospitalization and foot surgery.
Although there is much uncertainty and fear,
we leave it to God to make this miracle
happen.
Most of you may have never met our brother,
but through us and our stories you have
somehow crossed paths.
We hope that you will help us keep our brother Andy’s hope alive.
Our family will be deeply indebted for
your support and prayers.
