Help Fund Amit's Three-Year Retreat

Hello, I'm Amit. I have taken a leap of faith and am preparing to go into a three-year retreat at Gomde Pyrenees, France. The programme is a beautiful way of training in Buddhist practices of meditation and contemplation allowing the mind to become more calm, kind and clear. Our fast paced and fickle lives have led us astray from the things that are truly Important, the retreat will enable one to become more grounded within themselves as well as preparing one to be of service to others. The retreat shows a path where you can be freed from suffering and liberates us from our past traumas and habitual patterns. 

I'm from Leicester, UK, I currently reside in Berlin, Germany where I have a very comfortable life, I have a beautiful apartment in a hip neighborhood, an easygoing job and great people around me, yet I still feel a void in my life. Leaving my current life behind to focus on the Dharma will help me fill this void.

 

I want to participate in the three-year retreat to get a better understanding of my mind and the minds of others. Working towards freeing my mind would be a life well lived. There can be no greater task than to ease the suffering of others, starting with myself. I find it difficult living in a city and practicing wholeheartedly. I am hoping without the distractions of city life I can focus fully on the dharma and integrate it into my life irreversibly. Should I decide to return to the city after the retreat, I hope I would be happier, stronger, more productive and compassionate while controlling my vices and living in accordance to the dharma. I am hoping the retreat will enable me to be of greater help to others.

 

How will the funds be used?

The main cost will be board and food, Gomde Pyrenees will be charging a very reasonable  €600 a month, I will be staying for 41 months taking us to a total of €24,600. I will be allocating €4000 to go towards personal expenses such as toiletries, health insurance and other miscellaneous costs. The Final €1000 will be the 3% that GoFundMe charges for each donation, totaling €29,600.
