Hi, I’m Dina. I recently completed a work experience placement at AFEL – Lebanese Home for Children, a charity in Lebanon that protects and supports children at risk, particularly those affected by abuse, neglect, displacement, or extreme poverty.
During my time at AFEL’s center in Sin El Fil, I saw firsthand the impact this organisation has—providing not just education and therapy, but also emotional safety and a sense of belonging. One thing that stood out to me was how excited the children were for the upcoming summer camp in July 2025. For many of them, it’s the highlight of the year.
This year’s camp will host 150 children aged 5 to 15 from highly vulnerable backgrounds. Over several weeks, they’ll take part in structured activities like sports, music, drama, arts and crafts, and educational games. They’ll also receive psychosocial support from trained professionals, daily nutritious meals, and safe transportation to and from the center.
The camp is more than just fun—it’s a crucial part of AFEL’s holistic approach to child protection. It helps children build confidence, process trauma, and develop social and emotional skills in a nurturing environment.
To make this possible, I’m helping AFEL raise funds to cover:
• Staffing and professional facilitation
• Activity materials and educational supplies
• Meals and snacks
• Transport and logistics
• Hygiene kits and safety equipment
Every contribution helps create a safe, joyful space where children can heal, learn, and thrive—just as every child deserves.
Thank you so much for your support!
(The money will go to my Mum's bank account, and she will transfer it to AFEL)
You can either donate here or if you don’t feel comfortable with that you can give directly to AFEL’s website!
