Hello Everyone!
I am very excited to be going out on my first solo tour under my new stage name, Elizabeth Mar :) The tour will start at the very end of June of this year. Travel plans will take me cross country and will include some very beautiful house concerts, venue shows and visits to friends and family along the way.
I'm not going to lie it's been a rocky journey to get here. I tried to deny my dream and my gifts for many years when I came off the road after the break up of my last project. A lot of work went into the growth and healing that led me to this moment of remembering who I am and what I came here to do...and it's not to sit around hiding and being safe. I'm an artist and a performer and even though it's scary sometimes, it's essential that I get back to it. In order to embody this new phase I have changed my name to welcome in a re-birth and start fresh.
My inner direction and vision around this next phase is so clear and it is growing. It includes community building and creating the kinds of performances that bring us all together in a real and healing way. I'm fired up to get out there again to stand up for this vision and to say yes powerfully to who I am.
As many of you know, I traveled with my last group Quiles & Cloud for almost 6 years performing and playing all over the country. I have wonderful experiences, friends and connections to draw from, and this trip will be different as I will be traveling and performing SOLO. I am really looking forward to what will bloom from the experience.
There is one missing piece, and that is the TOUR VAN. My VW beetle is too small and unfit for this trip mechanically, so I find myself in need to purchase a reliable and appropriate (#vanlife) touring vehicle.
I have learned through touring before and through living alone that I function best when I have a place to return to on my own, to recuperate and rest. I see myself in a van that can accommodate a bed and space to recoup and be alone. A space where I can practice, work on new songs, write, paint and nurture my creative self. I know that I will need this nest in order to sustain my ability to give while I'm on the road.
With that being said, I have found something I really love and I am hoping that with your help, I can purchase this van. It was retrofitted by a very talented builder who creates stealth minivan campers out of Watsonville here in California. Website link - horizonoverland.com.
He is selling a Toyota Sienna which he built out to include a resting area with adjustable bed, a mini kitchen and office space. It's wonderful, perfectly sized and mechanically sound. Pics below and along with a breakdown of costs.
