hey!! my name is Ej (they/them) im a queer disabled person, i have had my chronic illness symptoms for almost my whole life but they started to become disabling when i hit puberty. About three years ago me and my family decided i was time to get me a wheelchair so that i could be independent when i moved to uni. we purchased a second hand folding power chair that ended up having a lot of faults and means im not able to go out alone in it, we then decided to go through a mobility company to get a chair better suited to me. This company did alot of things that we now know are wrong and messed us about a lot, they left me without any working chair for months at a time that meant i was housebound and unable to go to uni, when i finally got the chair it bent after the first time i used it to come home from uni i was then left housebound for another month, i got my replacement chair in march and that bent in july leaving me stuck once again. weve been unable to get a new chair but were able to find ways to manage until recently when my efix power assist broke, as you can see ive had a lot of bad luck with my wheelchair journey and as my health declines its getting more and more vital for me to get a chair that works for me, we have lost a lot of money due to the negligence of a company we trusted to help us when we didnt know where to go. Any help is massively appreciated as we are running out of options
