Help Fund a New Home for the Mitchells

My name is Carol Swailes, and I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of our good friends, Christine and Peter Mitchell. Sunday night, in a terrible tragedy, they lost everything they owned in a house fire. They were fortunate to escape their home, considering that the fire started in the middle of the night. Christine happened to wake up and smell smoke. They were both hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Peter is still in the hospital, but Christine was discharged and able to come back and survey the damage the next day.

She found nothing usable left—clothes, food, furniture, computers—everything is gone. Especially devastating was the loss of Christine's guitar, which she spent hours playing every day, and which enabled her to establish a TikTok presence as Guitar Nana. The mobile home itself is not salvageable, and was not insured. They had just moved into this home less than six months ago. Now they have to start over from scratch.

Over the years, the Mitchells have been unfailingly generous and kind to everyone around them, willingly stepping up to help anyone in need, even opening their home many times to people going through a rough patch.
