Help fund a Japanese Period film
Donation protected
I am a 3rd year film student at Loyola Marymount University working to finance my junior thesis film. The film is a tragic romance story set in 1930s Japan. It is a story of a woman's love and rage, a young girl's ambition, and a man's love.
As an Asian American filmmaker, I dream of bringing authentic Asian culture to western audiences. We have a team of talented student filmmakers who volunteered their time to bring 1930s Japan to present-day LA. We are drawing a lot from Japanese directors like Akira Kurosawa and Yasujiro Ozu to represent Japan on a more nuanced level than simply shooting "oriental-looking" subjects.
We are shooting March 18-20 and will finish post-production in June. We have already cast our leads and filled crew positions and are excited to begin production. Donations will go towards set construction and help us send the finished film to festivals.
