Hi everyone,
I'm working toward something that's way bigger than just a bike ride.
This August, I'm planning to bike Mount Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona—a 27+ mile bike climb gaining over 6,000 feet from desert heat into the mountains. It's one of the toughest endurance rides in the U.S.
But this isn't just about finishing a climb.
I'm a coach, and every day I ask my athletes to:
1. Push through discomfort
2. Stay disciplined
3. Believe in long-term growth
This ride is me doing the same thing.
Why I'm doing this:
I want to show my players what it looks like to:
1. Set a difficult goal
2. Build toward it step-by-step
3. Follow through when it gets hard
Too often, athletes hear “work hard” but don't see it modeled.
This is my chance to live it in a real way—and bring that experience back to them.
What I need help with:
To make this happen, I need to build a proper setup for long-distance cycling and mountain climbing. That includes:
1. A reliable road bike
2. Basic safety gear (helmet, glasses, gloves)
3. Pedals/shoes for efficient riding
4. Small upgrades for climbing (gearing, tires)
I'm not looking for anything excessive—just the essentials to safely train and complete the climb.
What your support means:
If you choose to support this, you're not just helping fund a ride.
You're helping:
1. Create a real example for young athletes
2. Show what discipline and consistency look like
3. Support a challenge that pushes limits mentally and physically
I'll be sharing updates along the way:
1. Training progress
2. Lessons learned
3. The full experience of the climb
The goal:
Finish the climb strong—and bring that experience back to the athletes I coach.
If you can donate, thank you.
If not, sharing this means just as much.
I appreciate all of you. All proceeds that are raised past the amount needed will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
