My name is Natalie Forster and I am creating this go fund me on behalf of my children’s school, Fun 2,3 Preschool in Keokea Maui. All donations will go directly to Fun, 2, 3 Preschool LLC. The first kona low storm brought significant damage to the play yard of the preschool and flooded the indoor space. The nonprofit Malama kula came to the rescue and cleared much of the outdoor damage making the outdoor space mostly usable again. However, the damage to the indoor space is significant. The flooding destroyed all the carpets and compromised the vinyl tile floor of the main classroom. Out of precaution we would like to replace the flooring and lower drywall. Due to the damages the preschool was unable to open back up after spring break and is doing everything they can to reopen. The staff has been working tirelessly to clean the space and go through all the damage. The health and safety of the keiki and teachers are top priority.

Fun 2,3 Preschool is a community of 21 families, plus teachers and helpers. Everyone is being directly impacted by this closure. Any help to secure funding to begin the repairs as soon as possible and to replace what was lost would be greatly appreciated. The costs of assessments and restoring the space will be very costly. Our keiki miss their preschool and teachers and our community is greatly impacted by this closure. The church has been generous to offer us another space in the building that did not get damaged but because of licensing the state will not currently let us use it. This has been very discouraging and the process of licensing the space can be very long and drawn out.

Fun 2,3 preschool has been providing care for keiki on Maui since 1991. Initially it was a home daycare that moved on to the Kula hospitals grounds that provided childcare for hospital staff and the surrounding community. It’s last move was to St.John’s church in Keokea. Today it provides childcare for 21 families coming from all around upcountry maui and further. Fun 2,3 Preschool is and has been a cherished place in the community for so many. Some parents who came to the preschool when they were keiki have sent their own keiki to Fun 2,3! It is a second home and a beloved space that truly cares and nurtures each child. We so greatly love our Fun 2, 3 family that creates a truly remarkable space for the kids to play, create, and grow. We greatly appreciate any help getting it back up and running and to be able to do what it does best, love and care for our keiki in a nurturing environment.
