On August 8, 2025, our family suffered an unexpected and heartbreaking loss —Robert Patnode, a loving father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

For 30 years, he served as a correctional officer at MCI-Norfolk, showing up every day with dedication and strength. He was a hard worker through and through, doing whatever it took to provide for his family. His work wasn’t easy, but he carried it with pride and commitment.

Now, it’s our turn to honor him. His final wish was to be cremated and have his ashes scattered either at his family farm or in the mountains of New Hampshire, places that brought him peace and joy. We also hope to place a simple headstone or memorial marker so there’s a lasting place for loved ones to visit and remember him.

We’ve chosen Boston Cremation to help us carry out these wishes. The total cost for cremation, death certificates, transportation, and scattering-related expenses is about $2,800–$3,000. Adding a memorial marker and covering fees brings the total closer to $4,000.

Any remaining funds will help with a small memorial gathering for friends and family. A Public Service will be held at 10 am on September 20, 2025 at St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
