Hi, my name is Morgan.

My grandmother, Rhonda Boulger, passed away on November 4th. She was one of the strongest women I’ve ever known — tough, loving, and resilient through so much pain in her life. Over the years, she endured four back surgeries and lived as a Type 1 diabetic, yet she never stopped fighting.

She loved deeply — her husband, her daughter (my mom), her son, and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Despite her health struggles, she never gave up. In her later years, she was confined to a wheelchair, could no longer feel her feet, and struggled relentless with being a diabetic.

On November 3rd, things took a turn for the worse when she fell from her bed. My grandfather wasn’t able to lift her, and they had to call for help. She was taken to the small hospital in their hometown of Pittsburg, TX, where doctors discovered she was in diabetic ketoacidosis. She was then airlifted to a larger hospital in Tyler, TX, where we learned her kidneys were failing and she needed to be placed on a ventilator.

The doctors did everything they could, but ultimately, the machines were the only thing keeping her alive. Surrounded by her loved ones, she passed peacefully.

My grandfather is now facing unexpected expenses while trying to honor her final wish — to be cremated and have her ashes spread at the Santa Barbara Pier with her late son, Scott Bouglar.
