Help Fulfill Rene's Last Wish

I’m writing this with the most pain I’ve ever felt in my heart and with such disbelief. I’m Litzy, Rene’s daughter and I’m at a loss of words and writing this is pretty hard. My dad was the most hardworking and courageous man I’ve ever met. He was charismatic and hilarious in his own way. He accepted me for exactly who I was and supported me through everything. He was a good person at heart who loved to help others, which is one of the best traits he passed down to me and my brother. My brother, Edie, would describe our dad as the glue to the family. He considered our dad the peacemaker. He thought of our dad to be selfless and very thoughtful. Our dad gave us tough love but knew when to be vulnerable. Our favorite memories with our dad were always in the outdoors, from rolling down big grass hills at a park to BBQs in the back yard. We absolutely loved and continue to love our dad as he is with us in spirit.

Unfortunately, my dad wasn’t in the best shape before passing. Even then this was extremely unexpected, my family and I are still in shock but trying to remain positive. Before passing, my dad would frequently mention to me he wanted to be in his home country when passing. He’s from El Salvador (which he is extremely proud to be from there due to the phenomenal president they currently have, he would have wanted me to mention that lol). It’s very expensive to ship a body out of the country which is why we are making this GoFundMe. Aside from this, there is a lot of other cost none of us were prepared for. It would mean the world to me and my family if we could give my dad what he wanted one last time. These are hard times and honestly, anything helps.

I genuinely believe my dad is experiencing the most peace he’s ever experienced and that makes me so happy for him. Thank you everyone for your condolences and kind words, they are very much appreciated.

Estoy escribiendo esto con el mayor dolor que jamás haya sentido en mi corazón y con tanta incredulidad. Soy Litzy, la hija de René y me quedo sin palabras y escribir esto es bastante difícil. Mi papá era el hombre más trabajador y valiente que he conocido. Era carismático y gracioso a su manera. Me aceptó exactamente como era y me apoyó en todo. Era una buena persona de corazón a quien le encantaba ayudar a los demás, lo cual es uno de los mejores rasgos que nos transmitió a mí y a mi hermano. Mi hermano, Edie, describiría a nuestro padre como el pegamento de la familia. Consideraba a nuestro padre el pacificador. Pensaba que nuestro padre era desinteresado y muy considerado. Nuestro padre nos dio un amor con carácter pero sabía cuándo ser vulnerable. Nuestros recuerdos favoritos con nuestro padre siempre fueron al aire libre, desde rodar por grandes colinas de césped en un parque hasta asados en el patio. Amamos absolutamente y seguimos amando a nuestro papá porque está con nosotros en espíritu.

Desafortunadamente, mi papá no estaba en la mejor forma antes de fallecer. Incluso entonces, esto fue extremadamente inesperado, mi familia y yo todavía estamos en shock, pero tratamos de mantener una actitud positiva. Antes de fallecer, mi papá me mencionaba frecuentemente que quería estar en su país de origen cuando falleciera. Él es de El Salvador (que está muy orgulloso de ser de allí debido al fenomenal presidente que tienen actualmente, hubiera querido que lo mencionara jajaja). Es muy costoso enviar un cuerpo fuera del país, por eso estamos creando este GoFundMe. Aparte de esto, hay muchos otros costos para los que ninguno de nosotros estaba preparado. Significaría mucho para mí y mi familia si pudiéramos darle a mi papá lo que quería por última vez. Son tiempos difíciles y, sinceramente, todo ayuda.

Realmente creo que mi papá está experimentando la mayor paz que jamás haya experimentado y eso me hace muy feliz por él. Gracias a todos por sus condolencias y amables palabras, son muy apreciadas.
