Dear Community, Family &Friends. I'm asking for all the support that my lovely mother can get. It's such a tragic that my mother had to go through alot of neglect and careless attention with the Nurse Skilled Facility she was trusted to be with.
My mother Olga was admitted back in October 15, 2025 to a Rehab Nurse Skilled Facility after being discharged from the hospital for being fatigue, having pneumonia, respiratory failure, risk at fall. She was good and stable and was discharged from hospital to continue help with Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy to regain her strength back. Unfortunately it didn't go as we expected to be. When my mother started showing signs and symptoms of a stroke I immediately brought it to their attention and they refuse to get her checked out just because their was no medical history that would indicate she can get strokes. My mother is a Type 1 Diabetic and they were not able to manage or control her blood sugars. They were constantly over dosing with insulin which would cause her to be hypoglycemia and one of the mornings they couldn't bring it back up and 1 of the nurses injected her with the emergency glucagon pen and walked out of the room with my mother still being unconscious and my mother fell off the bed and hit her head. She was sent to the ER and it was confirm after testing and scans that my mother had suffered a stroke few days ago. I fought for my mother to be transfered elsewhere to a different facility but unfortunately there was no beds available anywhere else. I made a complaint to the administrator of the facility and was told they will provide more training for the nurses. My mother was discharge from the hospital and needed follow-ups with different specialties. Including one of them
Nephrology. They never follow through even though I would speak to the caseworker in the facility. Letting her know that we did have authorizations to prove for and she would only say that she will look into it. Never, did they ever follow-up. There were also events where they would transport her to her medical appointments without her oxygen tank, that would lead her to the emergency room multiple times for having her oxygen level low. I once again requested to speak to the charge nurse and the person in charge of the facility and their respond was her medical chart was never updated and did not have any explanation into why they were not doing what they were supposed to be doing for my mom. I reported them to Adult Protective Services.
My mother was 2 days away from being discharged from the nurse Skilled facility and she was up and walking, moving talking happy as you can see in the picture.
On January 26 she asked the nurse if she can shower and the nurse told her she was busy at the moment and couldn't help her. My mother told her she can shower herself and the nurse said to go ahead and do so and she will just be checking in her on her. Reminder my mom has history of risk at fall.
I wish this day never existed. My mother had a slip and fall accident fractured her left eye, and broke her left shoulder. She was on the floor 15 minutes in excursionating pain screaming crying for help untill a nurse went in to check up on her.
Unfortunately after almost 2 months of being admitted my mother has suffered tremendously emotionally and physically with overall alot of her medical conditions worsening after the fall. Doctors have recommended for family to decide to put her in hospice because she's only going to get worse quality life is not going to be the best and she will only be in pain and trauma if they continue trying to stabilize her. It's so hard breaking having to make this decision when we see her in her good days being awake, alert, oriented and happy. She has good and bad days and of course we don't want my mom to continue suffering. It's a very hard difficult decision to make but she will be place on hospice soon along with Dialysis being removed and doctors explaining to family that after the removal of Dialysis they don't see her being with us no longer than a week or 2.
My mother was suppose to be discharged from the facility with strength and instead she came out broken. All because of a careless and neglecting center. For their fault my mother will no longer be with us and get to see her grandchildren grow. Shes only 69 years old and its so unfair that she is now in the last moments of her life.
This is why im asking for the support of anyone that we can gather funds to prepare for her services. My mother last wishes is to be taken back to California to be with my grandma however its going to be a big challenge for us but we are hoping we can make it come true for her. Please help and we thank you all an advance for taking the time to read my mom's story and providing anything you can. May God be all with and God bless you all from the bottom of our hearts.
