Good evening,

This is actually very hard for me to even do. As many of you who know me are aware, I hardly ever ask for help, but now I need it more than ever. Today, I discovered that a portion of my financial aid will not be covered. I will now have to pay out of my own pocket or stop going to school. Don't get me wrong, I just need a little help to get me through this rough patch. It has been a dream of mine to get my bachelor's degree in Criminal justice and I am so close to realizing my dream. I have a year left and my dream will be accomplished.  I have been applying for scholarships and anything that I can find to help reach my dream goal. 

A little about myself. I am a 43-year-old who works full-time at my local courthouse and am an emergency medical technician. I have been an emt for the past 16 years. I recently retired so I could commit to school but will be returning once schooling is done. In the summer time, I am the emt for both the Marquette County Go Kart track and also Sands Speedway. I have dedicated numerous hours to helping the forsyth township community. I also just got accepted to be on the Marquette County Community Corrections Advisory Board.

I have four children who have sacrificed so much for me so that I can reach my goal. My husband, the love of my life, has sacrificed so much by helping with chores and running errands. Everyone has pitched in to help take care of my aging, blind, deaf mother who lives with us. She does her best, watching the kids and the dogs. Our close friends have offered their time to help with transportation when my mother needs to attend doctor appointments. Because it takes a village.
