Help Fulfill Ms. Carroll's Final Wishes
Donation protected
On April 25th, Ms. Carroll woke up like any normal day, talked to her friends, and went to Physical Therapy. Shortly after bragging to a friend about moving home to Kerrville, TX, she would have the first of many seizures. April 26th, she had 3 more seizures back to back, lasting a total of an hour and a half. Doctors ran CT scans and an MRI, both coming back negative.
On April 27th, Carroll began to lose motor functions and started having nonconvulsive seizures. Doctors ran an EEG and found that the left hemisphere of her brain was not properly functioning. On April 28th, she went into a coma, losing all reactions to sound or pain. By April 30th, Carroll had to be intubated and provided with a feeding tube along with two different anti-seizure medications and a medication to keep her blood pressure up.
On May 1st, the Neuro Intensivist called and asked about a DNR. Carroll had a severe UTI, MRSA, pneumonia, and a collapsed lung. She was heavily reliant on the ventilator and medications. On May 3rd, it was determined that Carroll had little to no neurological function and would have to be transferred to hospice care. On May 6th, Carroll Jane Creech went home to Heaven. Due to the unexpected and unprepared nature of this great loss, there are no plans to have a service at this time.
We are asking that instead of sending flowers or plants, you would consider donating to help us finish her unfinished business and take her home. Being an only child and her only having a cremation plan trying to manage this loss has grown very costly for us but we still want to be able to celebrate what a wonderful and amazing person she was and take care of all the things she cant do on her own anymore. Hours before her first seizure, she was telling her friends how excited she was to move back to Kerrville. That is what I would like to do for her: take her to all of the places she wanted to visit again so badly. For the last two years, she missed out on so many things she wished to do because of her health: Galveston beach, float the Guadalupe, go to Mo Ranch (Hunt, TX), visit the Empty Cross Prayer Garden (Kerrville, TX), and return home to her parents' property (Kerrville, TX). That is where she told me she could be okay with dying.
My mother, Ms. Carroll, loved so big and still had dreams and goals (she was still on the schedule at Wal-Mart). We would like to take care of these things for her, and I would love to share the journey and stories along the way. We would love to be able to do this for her, for our first birthday of hers without her.. If you are not comfortable donating through this platform but would still like to donate, please reach out to me, and I can find something that works for you.
