Help fulfill Mehek's Wishes...

My name is Maan Thakur. I lost my daughter, Mehek, to cancer on July 26th, 2023. Before I tell you about how special Mehek was, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. Your show of support has been overwhelming, and I am not sure how we would have gotten through this journey without all the love, help and support.

Where do I start?

I try not to cry because you are gone but smile because you came into my life.

Feb 12th, 2014. It was hands down the best day of my life. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes on. I didn't quite understand the concept of "love of my life" until then. She truly was the love of my life.

I didn't think that I could love someone as much as I loved you and I don't think anyone loved me as much as you did.

I was not big on faith to begin with and what was left of it shattered with what happened with Mehek. But Mehek's faith and love for Radha/Krishna was pure and never wavered through all her troubles and tribulations. You could tell how completely surrendered she was to Radha and Krishna by how earnestly she would chant the "Hare Krishna" Mahamantra. She didn't like it when I used to tell her that she was my first love even above Radha and Krishna. She always told me that I was #3 on her list behind Radha and Krishna.

My heart will continue to live on with your memories; What do I tell my eyes that search for you everywhere?

Mehek was the most compassionate person that I knew and her heart would melt when she came across kids in distress. She used to always make me donate to causes concerning kids. One of her favorites was "Bhaktivedanta Vidyabhavan", a gurukul run by HG Das Gadadhar Das, that is dedicated to producing great individuals, sober and responsible leaders, who know what is the real welfare of the citizens. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to education without charging any fees to student, and as such rely on your generosity.

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken adults.” We lay emphasis on all the four aspects (Physical Abilities, Intellectual Quotient, Social Skills and Spiritual Empowerment) of development to better prepare our children and to equip them to face the world, beyond facing tests and exams.
