My mom, Julie, was diagnosed in August 2024 with stage 4 lung cancer, which had metastasized to her bones. As soon as possible, she went through an intensive 10-session radiation therapy, followed by two treatments of immunotherapy in order to fight the cancer. Unfortunately, the immunotherapy had a bad reaction and caused my mom's liver to fail, leading to her hospitalization. After a grueling 2-week hospital admission followed by a 10-day rehabilitation stay, she returned home with hospice care on Friday, November 22nd. Despite her spirit being lifted upon returning home, her body could no longer fight the disease. She passed in the early morning hours of November 27th, with her mom, her partner, and I by her side until the end.

My mom wished to be cremated, with her ashes distributed to close family and friends to be spread around the country in memory of her. The fee for cremation services, ash vessels for family and friends, as well as the urn she picked out is more than my mom's partner and I can currently comfortably afford, along with all the other expenses we have had to help keep my mom comfortable. All we want is to honor my mom's last wishes.

My mom was the most loving, amazing, and generous person I have ever met. She was beautiful, inside and out, and every day I strive to be as amazing of a person as she was. I will hold the memories we shared in my heart forever and will continue to live by her kindness, compassion, and humility.

I love you mom, forever and always. I hope you rest in peace, and I'll see you again one day.
