Help Fulfill Guadalupe's Final Wishes

Donation protected
Hello to anyone who takes the time to even read this and thank you! My name is Florinda, and I am writing this on behalf of my family for my dearest mother. Her name was Guadalupe. For those who don’t know, my family is very private and we usually just keep to ourselves. We don’t share very much private or personal things, we deal and go through it together quietly. We usually just try and work together to figure things out. But this time we won’t be able to do that. We need help from the community of friends and family members near and far.

My mother, was a very strong person. She always put her family first and her needs last. Never hesitated to say yes to her family and friends, especially in their time of need small or big. Always took care of her family no matter what and especially there for her grandkids. Always dropped what she was doing or cancelled plans to be with her grandchildren. She was a grandmother to four small grandchildren. She never complained about anything. Always in the back ground never in the spotlight kinda of person. Never cared about getting credit for things she did, just always happy to help. Even when sick she did what she could when she could. She didn’t judge anyone or their faith. She was open to any faith and always gave people the benefit of the doubt. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone in anyway.

On Friday evening she was coming down with what we thought was a common cold. She was still up and about, but not feeling well. She was still taking care of her family like always. Come Monday morning she was still not feeling well. A little worse so we figured maybe more than a cold. Possibly the flu or worst pneumonia. We took her to the doctors to get checked out, figured she just needed some meds to help her. Again she was still able to walk and talk with some discomfort from coughing and possibly developing a fever. She came home that evening from the doctors office with still much strength and power. Figured some rest and antibiotics from the doctors is what she needed to get back on the road to recovery. Late Monday night, she complained about difficulty breathing and feeling weak. This time she needed help just to stand. Was having a hard time keeping anything down. We decided she needed to go to the emergency room. Took her in thinking she was going to be fine once they gave her meds and fluids. Figured maybe an overnight stay or two at the most. She was admitted very early Tuesday morning. Given IVs and meds but her health was declining. She was having a harder time breathing and more pain and discomfort. Doctors said her oxygen and CO2 levels were not good. Her blood work was becoming more acidic because she was not breathing properly. Lungs were filled with fluid. By Tuesday evening they had decided to move her over to a Portland based hospital. By the time we got to see her in Portland. She was already sedated and oxygen tube was in. Doctors said she was on a lot of meds just to try and stabilize her. Her body was too unstable for any surgeries at the moment. From there she just deteriorated quickly. By Wednesday morning she was gone. Her heart had stopped working. Just under the coarse 3 days. She went from walking and talking under her own power to breathing tube and hospitalized in the ICU. She passed Wednesday morning with her family by her side.

We are asking for donations to try and fulfill her last wishes. For now we are focusing on having enough to afford for her body to be sent back to Mexico where her mother can maybe see her one last time. Because she was always there for everyone else. The least we can do for her is to try and fulfill her last wishes. Donations will be used for funeral and medical expenses. Thanks for taking the time to read.
