Hi, I'm Kelli Francis, Executive Director for Fuel Relief Fund, and we are trying to raise funds to help support my FRF Team that is currently on the ground in Nepal.
Help Fuel Relief Fund Deliver Critical Fuel to Flood-Ravaged Communities in Nepal
Catastrophic flash flooding has devastated communities across northern Nepal, particularly in the remote Rasuwa District near the Tibetan border. A glacial landslide sent ice, rock, and debris surging into the Bhote Koshi River, destroying roads, bridges, homes, and other critical infrastructure. Many affected communities remain difficult to reach, making the delivery of humanitarian aid extremely challenging.
Fuel Relief Fund has deployed a volunteer team to Nepal to provide free gasoline, diesel, and propane to affected families, hospitals, and humanitarian organizations working on the ground.
Fuel is often the missing link in disaster response. Aid trucks cannot deliver food and water without diesel. Hospitals cannot operate generators or life-saving equipment without fuel. Families cannot travel to safety or reach essential services when their vehicles run dry. By providing fuel at no cost, Fuel Relief Fund helps keep the entire relief effort moving.
Our team traveled more than 24 hours from the United States to Kathmandu before beginning the difficult journey into the flood-affected region. Working alongside local organizations and humanitarian partners, the team has already:
-Delivered diesel to Trishuli Hospital, the only hospital serving more than 1,000 people in the surrounding valley. The fuel supports emergency generators, water purification, and oxygen equipment.
-Established a free mobile fueling point at a critical crossroads to keep aid trucks moving and prevent vehicles from becoming stranded on dangerous mountain roads.
-Transported fuel across the Trishuli River Valley by zipline and drone to reach isolated areas.
-Secured 50 propane tanks for World Central Kitchen when propane was otherwise unavailable, helping its team continue preparing meals for people in need.
-Traveled more than nine hours across extremely difficult roads to reach the Rasuwa District and deliver fuel to the Dhunche District Hospital.
This deployment is also a return to a country that holds a special place in our organization’s history. Fuel Relief Fund previously served communities in Nepal following the devastating 2015 Gorkha earthquake. More than a decade later, we have returned to stand with the people of Nepal once again.
Who We Are
Fuel Relief Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing human suffering during disasters by providing free fuel. Since our founding in 2009, we have responded to more than 30 disasters in the United States and around the world, delivering more than 500,000 gallons of gasoline, diesel, and propane to hospitals, first responders, shelters, humanitarian organizations, and families.
When disaster strikes, fuel makes relief possible—and every donation helps us purchase and distribute more of it.
Your support will help cover the cost of fuel, local transportation, propane tanks, field logistics, and other essential deployment expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps keep hospitals operating, aid vehicles moving, meals cooking, and critical supplies reaching people in need.
Please donate today and share this fundraiser with your family, friends, and community. Together, we can keep relief moving and bring hope to the people of Nepal.
When fuel is available, help can go farther.
