Help Fuel Joshua's Passion for Dance and Change

Hello! I hope this message finds you well wherever you are in your journey in life. My name is Joshua “Jstylez” Garcia. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I am an upcoming dancer, wanting to make a difference in the communities we live in and eventually the world through dance in body and movement. I grew up in a low-income household that didn’t know when the next meal would be on the table. I was also raised by females for the entirety of my life and with that, came complications in my development as I was starting to become something. Dance has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a little kid, it’s given me the ability to build confidence, make great connections with individuals, and understand myself more than what words simply can’t teach.

As a kid that was raised in an environment that had nothing but violence surrounding me, it would be evident to be exactly what’s around you. However, dance was the one thing that saved my life. Dance was the only outlet to give me a reason to wake up every single day and to see it through. Still currently at age 24, I still follow this same discipline. As dance has changed my reality to become different, to be who I know I was chosen to be, to fulfill my purpose. The funds will be used to fulfill the tuition costs of the opportunity to participate in a business of dance mentorship program that can literally change my life, I however can’t do it alone. I know you are probably asking yourself as you read this, why you? I can answer this the only way l know how to and that’s to be as a transparent and real with my audience. I bring something that’s unique, different or out of the ordinary from the world that we currently live in now and that’s showing that l actually care. Not just about the beauty behind dance but about people in general as a whole. I just know that if l can be able to help someone that’s in need, l definitely will. It’s what being a human is all about; being kind, moving it forward.                                                                               I first ask, what can I bring to you of value? We tend to always ask for things with the expectation that we are automatically are going to get them. I want to bring value to people’s life as they expect the same thing. This fundraiser is an opportunity to make reality come true for me and fulfill my purpose as I’ve stated before. I want to create a movement that will forever change a life, one step at a time.
