World University Climbing Games - Slovenia

I've been climbing my whole life! When I was 11, I finally joined a climbing team at Movement Boulder. For several years, I climbed and played lacrosse. After 10 years of playing lacrosse, I finally made the transition to climbing being my primary sport. Being part of the climbing team, meeting new friends from other gyms at climbing comps that shared the same passion for climbing made it addicting to say the least. The community I had joined made me want to only do rock climbing all the time. I put my heart and soul into getting stronger and better so that one day I could be on top of one of those stages. Throughout my journey, I've had discouraging moments but through it all, I've never thought once that I should quit climbing.
The University World Games is an event that brings together all of the best college students in the world to compete against each other and it only happens every 2 years. To qualify, you have to place in the top 5 in either Bouldering or Lead. Last year as a freshman, I placed 5th in Lead and 7th in Bouldering. With the University World Games being every other year, my placement encouraged me to train harder for my sophomore year. This past April, I placed 1st in Bouldering and Lead at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Divisional qualifying for USA Collegiate Nationals. I have trained hard and at this year's USA Collegiate Nationals, I finished 2nd place in Lead securing my spot on the USA Collegiate National Team to go to the University World Games in Koper, Slovenia.
The people I've met and the accomplishments I've been able to achieve have all been a great journey and I'm excited for the future!
Any support you can offer is appreciated as I continue to train for this competition. I'm excited to travel and compete in Slovenia representing the USA.
