Help Fudgie Frottage Heal and Return to The Stage
Donation protected
Drag King legend Fudgie Frottage was rushed to the ER after he fell off the stage at Wild Side West on Monday, March 17.
Frottage was hosting the Annual St. Paddy's Day show at his favorite neighborhood dive bar when the incident occurred.
Fudgie sustained a broken radius bone in his wrist as well as a fractured upper tibia on his right leg, so he is out of commission for at least 6 weeks.
Fudgie is a starving artist who has lived in SF since 1977. Though he now receives Social Security and Medicare, he must still work to afford the high cost of living.
Currently, he can't bend his right leg, which is in a brace, or use his right hand or wrist, which is in a cast. So he can't walk his dogs, drive his car, or even type with two hands. The doctors said it will take a minimum of six weeks to heal, but it could be much longer.
Please help Fudgie if you can by donating today.
The fall was caused when Frottage tripped on a wire.
"No more wired mics," vows Fudgie, who plans to return to the stage at the Wild Side West for Pride Weekend, which will also be his 70th Birthday Celebration.
The St. Paddy's Day number was a passionate piece with Fudgie singing live with rewritten lyrics to the tune of "Zombie" by the beloved Irish band, The Cranberries.
"When I told Fudgie to "break a leg", I meant it in the tradition of show biz, as a way of wishing a performer good luck. I didn't mean it literally," said Billie Hayes, owner of the Wild Side, one of San Francisco's oldest women-owned LGBTQ dive bars.
