Help Frya Get Life-Saving Heartworm Treatment
Donation protected
I have been Frya’s foster mom now for 16 months. She had a tail amputation that was still healing, and heartworm positive, yet her rescue put her on a transport north with many other dogs. None of the dogs had a place to land when they started on their journey.
I stepped up and said that I would foster her. When we met her at the transport she arrived without a collar. She arrived without a leash.
We lovingly brought her into our pack. She was shy, was afraid to trust, and at 2 years old, still not housebroken. We nurtured and taught her trust and love.
All that time I was dealing, and getting aggravated with her rescue to get her heartworm treatment. I found one vet near me VCA Fairmount Animal Hospital that would deal with her, plus deal with the rescue. When the quote of $3,200( high end) came in the rescue said they wouldn’t pay that much. Months went by because of their procrastination, and wanting me to get another quote. I finally was able to wiggle her into my personal vet who doesn’t typically deal with rescues. The quote from my vet was even higher!
The rescue said that the most they would pay was $1,300.
That was May and we had already had her for a whole year. We have paid for everything for her. Toys, treats, collars, leash, and of course food. The rescue never contributed a dime.
Well now my hackles were up
WE ARE THE ONLY ADVOCATES FOR THIS SWEET PUP.
So I made a deal with the (devil) rescue… If they guarantee the $1,300 I will do fundraisers to secure the rest. I don’t trust them which is why I’m posting the whole price for the Heartworm treatment and after care. If things are paid and if there was ANY $$ left over it will be donated to a dog rescue that truly CARES….strongpawsrescue.org. They care about EVERY dog that they rescue. They provide food, collar, leash, toys and treats, and personalized contact and help with ALL of their foster moms and dads.
Thank you for listening. It’s a cruel world out there sometimes but we can just keep doing the little things that make it better one dog at a time.
