This GoFund Me account is to raise funds for the medical costs of Marlen Benitez Munoz, who is currently in the hospital in critical condition in a comma after being injured in a hit a run. We are also trying to raise money to support her four children who are in need of money to keep food and roof over their heads.
On Tuesday, October 13, 2020 Marlen was selling fruits out of her fruit stand when she was hit by a car. The suspect involved then attempted to flee the scene, but was then apprehended by authorities. Her family has reason to believe that the attack was a premeditated act of racism.

- My name is Angel Mendez-Flores and I'm a close friend of Marlen's family. My parents and Marlen's parents have known each other for years as they are all street vendors. I personally know Marlen, her mother, father, and sister.
