Help Front Street’s Midtown Bruce Beat Cancer! ♥

Bruce has had to go through a lot in his little life. ❤️
He was abandoned next a dumpster as a newborn, narrowly surviving alone and in the heat.
After I found him and brought him home, I discovered he had a cleft lip and had difficulty taking a bottle and learning to eat was a struggle for some time, but eventually he overcame the adversity. He was so tenacious and had such a fighting spirit. He never gave up.
When he was a few months old, he climbed to the tip top of a tree, lost his balance and fell. Only, his harness caught him on the way down. There he stay dangling 30 ft above the cement until I could rescue him, scared out of his mind.
That stressful event precipitated Bruce’s sharp decline in health, and at only 8 months old, he was diagnosed with high-grade, large cell lymphoma. He had fluid in his chest, a 6.78 cm tumor in his abdomen, and evidence of neurological/kidney involvement.
Large cell lymphoma is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer, and it was everywhere. The prognosis was extremely bleak – he was only expected to live for a few weeks. But, this kid has the will to live like no one I’ve ever seen! So we started treatment, scared to death, but against all odds he went into a full remission after another 8 months of chemotherapy. This kid was so brave.
And in the next year, our dreams for Bruce came true - he got his kittenhood back!! He got to run around and play with his siblings, go outside and chase bugs, adventure around midtown with his mom and go on so many cat walks to the river in his own neighborhood. He was finally living the healthy, happy life he deserved…
Until a couple months ago I noticed his eyes start to change and I realized my worse fear was coming true - his cancer was already back.
He is still only 2, and we are so far ahead of it this time, we think we have a great chance at beating this thing again!
Unfortunately, because Bruce’s initial diagnosis came just after my official adoption of him, and just before his insurance was supposed to kick in, I’ve had to pay for all his treatments out of pocket.
In order for Bruce to finish his scheduled treatments and reach remission yet again, it will cost approximately the total of this fundraiser (and probably then some if I’m being realistic). This amount includes his chemotherapy, vet visits, lab work, ultrasounds, supplements, holistic treatments, supportive medications, special diet, etc., and so we are reaching out to our amazing community of animal lovers, fellow volunteers, supporters and friends to help get Bruce through chemotherapy, once more.
If you’re able to contribute to this fundraiser, please click on the following link to the GoFundMe website. All funds will go directly to Bruce’s cancer treatments, and, should your generosity result in any amount left over, the remaining will go into continuing research into feline lymphoma. We still have so much we don’t understand about this terrible disease.
Thank you all for all of your love and support as Bruce and I face this scary next chapter together. We love you all. ♥
