Greetings! Thanks for your time and consideration!
Please help us give kids HOPE, confidence, self-assuredness, and a place to feel safe. A minute of your time and a small amount of money will make all the difference to these kids, in a world that is going mad all around us.
We are a non-profit organization that is the chartering organization for:
a Cub Scout Pack, a Boy Scout Troop, and a Venturing Crew.
We are asking for your assistance to make a small piece of land we have in central MA more usable for our Scouting program as well as the local community. It is approximately 11 acres of land with incredible potential for outdoor programming. While we are presently the chartering organization for three scouting units, we have reached out to the local scouting program and extended the offer to let them use the property. We also have met with officials from a wide range of municipal departments and have extended the offer to allow local youth groups, athletic teams, recreational programs, and community groups to use the property for day outings and overnights.
All funds raised will go right into the property. Most of the infrastructure will be constructed by volunteers so the preponderance of the funds received will be for the purchase of materials and supplies, NOT labor. This GoFundME effort will go directly to our organization and this effort is being exclusively coordinated by (unpaid/uncompensated) officers/volunteers directly affiliated with our organization.
We have some ambitious plans for use of the property later this Spring and over the Summer. We would be very grateful to receive your support right away so we can immediately commence a whole bunch of weekends of improvements in time for late Spring and Summer programming.
Initially, we need to build at least three 8' x 15' buildings:
one will house a well pump, water filtration system, and tank
one will house electrical panels and controls
one will house basic equipment to be used on the site.
We are also hoping to construct 12 tent platforms to keep the tents up off the ground and level.
Additionally, we also hope to have some type of bathroom facility.
Presently we bring "hunters buckets" and it has unfortunately had the effect of deterring some of the younger and more timid kids!
As you can see, we are not looking to make the camp glamorous, just functional! That will encourage more use and enjoyment of the property and will foster programming opportunities for a wide variety of people.
If someone wanted to make a larger donation, naming rights for one (or more) of the structures would definitely be available!!
Please help us help these kids!
We want all kids to have the opportunity to grow with the experiences of outdoor skills, camping, good citizenship, and leadership.
Thanks in advance for your time and support!!!
