Help My Friend With Lyme Disease

A friend of mine has a 26-year-old daughter who is very ill. She has been battling Lyme disease and co-infections for 3.5 years. No treatments are covered by OHIP.  Her parents have shouldered the vast majority of the cost for her care and unfortunately, she is still not doing well.  They are beginning a new 20 week treatment at a cost of $900 per week.  To give a sense of what the patient is going through, within a matter of months, she went from being a Dean's list student to being unable to read her notes. Something as simple as taking a shower would require her to sleep the rest of the day. The condition has made it difficult to maintain her friendships. The disease has affected every area of her life.

The prognosis looks very promising as long as she gets the proper treatment. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to cover medical costs.  All funds will be directed to this treatment.
