Frieda’s Macy's Family is reaching out for your support during this difficult and challenging time in Frieda’s and David’s life.

Frieda experienced a medical emergency on Saturday, October 12th. She has a long road to recovery and needs our support. Frieda and her son are facing significant financial burdens due to medical bills and living expenses. Frieda has been a pillar of our Mid-Michigan community for decades. She was born and raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan, where her father, Charles Freeman Joseph, was the first black mayor. She has tirelessly given of herself through community giving efforts, working with her Sorority Sisters, teaching dance and history to young people, and spearheading the Colleague Resource Group/DEI at Macy's. She is the rock and joy in so many people’s lives, and it is now our time to show our gratitude and support for her.

We are aiming to raise $10,000 to cover medical expenses as well as everyday living expenses for Frieda and her son David. Your contributions will help alleviate financial stress for Frieda and her family.
