Help Freyja Heal: Surgery for a Spirited Pup

Hi, my name is Freyja!

I’m a 14-month-old pup full of energy and love. Normally, I get to run free in the springs and woods near my home in North Carolina. But recently, my family and I traveled to Florida to be with a dear friend — a Vietnam War veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient — who is sadly in the final stages of terminal cancer.

He loves me, and I love him. I swim in his pool, play fetch (though I don’t always bring the ball back!), and do my best to make him smile.

Unfortunately, during one of our games, I slipped while jumping for the ball and broke my leg badly. I now have a spiral fracture that needs surgery with plates and bolts.

My mom and dad have put everything they have into supporting their friend and helped as much as they could with my ER visit and surgical consult, but funds are running low and we are asking for help with my surgery so I can be a puppy again and swim and play & jump.
