Help Freya's Heart Journey

Freya Andrea Fendig was born on 5/2/24 with a rare heart condition. She was transferred to CHOA with the expectation of heart surgery, but we were recently informed that she no longer qualifies for this surgery.

Here is the current update from Taylor and Ben:

We've been in CHOA for a week. Upon admission, the Echo of Freya's heart showed that her case is more complicated than previously anticipated, and she isn't a surgical candidate here in Atlanta.

We are given the option to get second opinions from a few other facilities or to take her home and enjoy the time we would have left with her. We are waiting to hear from the other hospitals, although one has said she is not a surgical candidate.

We are also hoping to meet with the transplant team. Transplant is a long shot, but we are pursuing all avenues for our girl!

Every nurse tells us Freya is the loudest baby in the unit (we call her opinionated). She let's you know when she has a dirty diaper and loves being held by pretty much anyone.
