Help Freya
Freya is only 3 years old and was rescued by @california_cleft_pup_rescue_ around the same time I started fostering Becky. Freya’s foster mom actually found me on Instagram and said, “I think I have Becky’s daughter!” We’ve kept in touch ever since and we both adopted our girls :).
Just a few days ago, Freya suddenly started dragging her back legs. There wasn’t any known injury or accident. One day she was happily playing with her dog brother Artemis, and the next, she couldn’t walk normally.
Freya’s X-rays on 9/11 showed a congenital vertebra shaped abnormally near her front legs, and further down her spine a few vertebrae have calcification, arthritis, and compression. She was also diagnosed with complete hip dysplasia and kneecaps that slip out of place (subluxing patellas).
Today, 9/12, Freya is undergoing an emergency MRI to find out what’s going on. Her rescue mom, my friend Julie, is doing everything she can to get Freya the care she needs, but the vet bills are overwhelming. This MRI alone is costing $5,000 and she has to drive from Tehachapi down to Irvine.
Any donation, big or small, will help give Freya a fighting chance. Please consider supporting her journey and share if you can.
Thank you for helping this sweet girl and her loving mom.
