Hello, my name is Jessica, and this is my 2-year-old cat, Freya.
Freya has been struggling with luxating patellas since she was just 6 months old. At the time, my veterinarian was hopeful that because she was so young, she might grow out of it. But unfortunately, she didn’t. Over time, her condition has only gotten worse.
At the time, I was living in a very rural area where seeing an orthopedic specialist wasn’t possible. However, after recently moving, I was finally able to get Freya evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon.
The orthopedic surgeon confirmed that surgery is the only way Freya can live a comfortable, pain-free life, as both of her patellas are severely luxated (grade 3/4).
The cost of surgery is approximately $4,000 per knee, totaling $8,000. As much as I want to give her the care she needs, I am currently struggling to cover basic living expenses, and this cost is simply beyond what I can afford on my own.
I found Freya when she was only 2 weeks old, and I raised her myself. She has been a constant source of love and comfort in my life, and I truly cannot imagine life without her. I am asking for any help, no matter how small, to give Freya the chance to live without pain. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Freya’s story and for any support you can give.
