Help Save Freya: My Golden Retriever's Fight Against Osteosarcoma

Hi everyone, my name is Joshua Limed, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart for help with my incredible golden retriever, Freya. She's my everything—my loyal sidekick, my emotional support through tough times, and the most loving, gentle soul I've ever known. Freya has this magical way of sensing when I need comfort; she'll just plop down for cuddles, rest her head on my lap, and make the world feel okay again. Even now, with everything she's been through, her eyes still sparkle with that classic golden retriever joy and zest for life. She's not ready to go, and I can't imagine my days without her.

In November, our lives changed when Freya was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her right rear leg. It hit hard, especially as a single person who's currently job hunting while going to school full-time—my resources are already stretched thin. Following our vet's strong recommendation, we went ahead with amputation in mid-December to remove the tumor and give her the best fighting chance. The surgery was successful, and follow-up scans came back clear—no spread to her lungs or other organs. She's adapted to three legs like the champ she is, still wagging her tail, playing gently, and giving me those big, soulful looks that melt my heart.

Freya powered through her first round of chemotherapy in January, handling it better than I could have hoped. But the road ahead is expensive, and I'm out of options. The diagnostics and amputation alone cost around $9,000, which I had to put on credit cards with the help of a close family friend because we couldn't wait. Each chemo session runs about $1,200, and she'll need more rounds to keep pushing toward remission. We'll also have additional imaging and scans at the third and sixth treatments, adding $450 each time. The total estimated cost for her full care is $15,000 to $17,000.
As someone juggling school, job searching, and now this medical debt, I simply don't have the funds to cover the upcoming treatments without help. Every dollar raised will go straight toward paying down the credit from the amputation and funding the remaining chemo rounds, scans, and supportive care to keep Freya comfortable and strong. She's given me unconditional love and strength when I needed it most—now I want to give her every possible chance to keep shining.

If Freya's story resonates with you, please consider donating whatever you can afford. Even small amounts add up, and sharing this page with friends, family, or pet-loving communities would mean the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support—you're helping keep Freya's tail wagging and those cuddle sessions going strong.
With endless gratitude, Joshua Limed and Freya ❤️
