If you know us, you know Freya.
She is not “just a dog.” She is the heartbeat of our house. The constant in a world that sometimes feels like it’s falling apart.
Last July, Freya was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma affecting her liver and spleen. We were heartbroken, but the oncologist told us we had a good chance at more time — and she was right. Freya went through several rounds of chemotherapy and by mid-September, she was in remission.
This February, the cancer returned.
And here’s the hardest part: she plays. She wrestles. She loves long walks and playtime at Dogwood. She has absolutely no idea she’s sick.
Aside from the lymphoma, she is healthy, joyful, and fully herself. She still lights up when we grab the leash. You think you like junk food? Wait until you see Freya like junk food. There is so much life left in her.
If she weren’t still this strong and full of joy, we might have made a different decision. But she is, and we can’t ignore that.
We’re raising funds to help cover a second round of chemotherapy. The treatments are expensive ($1k - $2k per week), and we can’t do this alone. She’s still full of life, and we want to honor that with every option available to her.
To know Freya is to love her. We just want to give her the same loyalty and devotion she’s always given us.
If you’re able to donate, we are deeply grateful. If you can share this, that means just as much. Thank you for helping us give Freya the care she needs and deserves.
With love,
Dom and Patty
